Why Buy a Western Bar Stool

Posted on: September 17, 2011

Many major cities have a plethora of bars with various themes people can attend. Add the number of higher end houses that have their own mini bar (in rare cases an entire bar joint), bachelor pads with bar-like atmospheres, and other bar-like scenes and you have a lot of places and people that are in need of bar stools. A bar stool is extremely important in capturing the feel you want your bar theme to portray. If you want a fifties style bar scene then you want the metallic four legged stool with the leather top seat. If you want a modernized bar area then you want a bar stool that sits on a circular disk with the seat attached to a thick metallic pole and is more like a small seat design with back support. Likewise, those looking for the classic western bar scene design will want a western bar stool.
What does a western bar stool look like? Western style bar stools are more like a cross between the fifties style and the modern contemporary style. Western bar stools are typically made entirely of wood with four legs and can have either a round or square bottom with or without back support. There is a western style of bar stool that is made of iron as well but any other material would mean that the bar stool is not built authentically which most avid old western bar owners will not be able to stomach having in their bar.
What is so great about authentic western bar stools? Authentic western bar stools are typically hand made from non-processed materials such as cowhide. Since no two trees or cows are exactly alike, no two western bar stools are exactly alike. This gives every western bar owner a very unique look and ensures that no two bars are the same, which atmosphere alone usually ensures as well. Western bar stools given any atmosphere the old western feel it is striving for. Without them a western bar scene, whether it is an actual bar or an in-home bar, just isn’t right.
Authentically created bar stools are handmade and can cost quite a bit to obtain but the level of historical authenticity it will give its environment will be well worth the cost. Even if you aren’t an avid old western fanatic or John Wayne groupie, a factory made western bar stool is much better than simply throwing any old bar stool into your bar area. Any westernized scene, bar or not, can benefit from the addition of a western bar stool. Throw one into the corner of your John Wayne shrine and it will be one step closer towards perfection.
